Our story
On 28 November 2025, Paul and Richie threw open the doors of Red House Farm once again. What they took on was more than a pub on Hepscott Drive. It was a chance to give Whitley Bay a local it could truly call its own.
Since that first night, they've poured their hearts into it. Piece by piece and pint by pint, Red House Farm has grown into a thriving community pub: a place where regulars are greeted by name, families gather round the table for Sunday dinner, and first-time visitors quickly feel like old friends.
It's built on hearty homemade food, a proper warm welcome and a team who genuinely love what they do. We're proud of how far we've come, and we're only just getting started.

Tucked away in the village of Whitfield, deep in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Elks Head is a traditional Northumberland country inn with a crackling log fire, a warm welcome and bags of character.
Paul and Richie reopened it in June 2026, bringing the same passion you'll find here to the heart of the countryside: hearty homemade food, a well-kept bar and a refurbished restaurant and function room ready for your biggest celebrations.
And the best part? You don't have to go home. With 10 cosy letting bedrooms, The Elks Head is the perfect escape for a weekend in the West Allen Valley, whether you're walking the fells or simply putting your feet up by the fire. We couldn't be prouder of it. Go and see for yourself!
